Cumulative Presentations
With our trip coming to a close, our team was slated to present our overall progress and discoveries during our time in Almaty. We presented both at AlmaU and the International university of information technologies (IITU), sharing comprehensive recaps of all the work we accomplished in Kazakhstan.
Following the presentations at Alma U, we participated in a group Q&A session with students from both Lehigh University and AlmaU. During this session, we were asked about the challenges, surprises, and achievements experienced throughout our collaboration. It was a heartwarming moment, as we reflected on the partnership and the rewarding experiences we shared.
At IITU, we had the privilege of hearing from esteemed researchers based in Almaty, beyond the Lehigh group of fellows. Sharing the stage with such intelligent and progressive individuals was a remarkable experience.
Overall, it was a great end to a two-week partnership between the universities, encompassing all the hard work each team put in during the trip. We ended the day with a wonderful dinner at a nearby Indian restaurant and said our goodbyes to the AlmaU students.

Planning out the Summer
When the team returns to the United States, James, Nathaniel, and Ali will stay for the Mountaintop Summer Experience, continuing to work on Save Tuba. With this right around the corner, the team was tasked with creating a summer plan to internalize all the objectives we need to continue working on. Most of the plan involves polishing the educational platform for release in August, while ensuring we maintain communication with Abai University and their team of researchers. The goal is to build a strong foundation for Save Tuba’s success and impact in the coming months.
Final Meeting with Abai University
Following the successful workshop with Abai University, Mattes, Malika, and Sean returned to finalize and formalize our partnership regarding the Save Tuba initiative. In preparation for this meeting, we collaboratively developed Exhibit A of our project agreement, delineating our respective roles and responsibilities.
During the meeting, we thoroughly reviewed Exhibit A and presented the Save Tuba project to faculty members interested in staying informed. We extend our gratitude to Abai University for yet another productive meeting and for their invaluable partnership.
