At Save Tuba, every day brings new milestones, meaningful conversations, and moments of joy. Today was no exception, as our team split up to maximize impact and came together to celebrate progress.
Our day began with a strategic division of labor: Juliana, Poshitha, Damir, and Shirina headed to Kazakhstan International School (KIS) to confirm and iron out logistics for launching KIS as a pilot school for our After School Save Tuba program. They met with Leigh, Saltanat, and Rekha—who were all amazing and incredibly supportive and helpful in helping us work through piloting at KIS. Meanwhile, Alnur, Alina, and Arnur remained at AlmaU, focused on advancing key preparations for the busy day ahead.

By midday, the team reunited near Abai University and took a stroll through the historic 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park. Amidst the lush greenery, we enjoyed a moment of reflection and camaraderie, then marveled at the stunning Ascension Cathedral—a true architectural gem. With spirits high, we debriefed the full team on the latest updates from KIS and prepared for our next big meeting.

Next stop: Agosto Coffee Cafe, where we met up with Khanjan and two wonderful contacts from Abai University, Kulyash and Bakhodur. Over a delicious lunch, we put our heads together to finalize the pilot program strategy with Abai, ensuring that every detail was in place for a successful launch.

As the afternoon wrapped up around 4 PM, we made our way back to AlmaU—just in time to dodge a sudden downpour. But the day was far from over! The entire GSIF Kazakhstan group and AlmaU students gathered for an evening of karaoke, laughter, and connection. With great food, drinks, and music, we celebrated the day’s achievements and the friendships that make our journey so special.
Today was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together, support one another, and take time to enjoy the journey. As we move forward with our pilot programs and partnerships, we’re more energized than ever to make a lasting impact.
Stay tuned for more updates from the Save Tuba team—where every day is an adventure, and every connection brings us closer to our mission!
